Lucky Peak Reservoir pool to start dropping on August 17

The Lucky Peak Reservoir pool will start lowering on Aug. 17, according to the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Bureau of Reclamation will begin lowering the pool elevation of Lucky Peak Reservoir on that Monday.

This will be one day short of the lowering start last year.

Currently, the Boise River System reservoirs are at 73 percent of capacity, according to the Bureau. Near normal to slightly above normal carryover is projected in the Boise River System reservoirs at the end of the irrigation season.
